On October 16 at 19:00, a lecture on English public speaking was held at the Foreign Language Salon on the First Floor of No. 1 Teaching Building, delivered by Dominic, a foreign teacher. Focusing on the purpose of a speech, topic selection, and the development of a central argument, the lecture offered students practical guidance on preparing effective English speeches.
讲座中，Dominic 强调，精彩的演讲既需要清晰的语言表达，也离不开有价值的内容和鲜明的观点。他引导同学们思考“为什么演讲”“希望向听众传递什么”，并结合家庭、音乐、旅行等话题，讲解如何从宽泛的主题中找到具体切入点，形成明确且有吸引力的核心观点。他鼓励同学们从自身兴趣出发，通过思考、阅读与研究充实内容，让演讲言之有物。
During the lecture, Dominic emphasized that an effective speech requires clear language, meaningful content, and a well-defined central idea.
