简介：广西民族大学教授、博士生导师。曾任中南大学、厦门大学（兼职）教授、博导，英语语言文学湖南省“十一五”重点学科负责人。教育部新世纪优秀人才；加州大学伯克利分校访问学者，宾夕法尼亚大学富布莱特研究学者。主要学术兼职包括：全国美国文学研究会、中国英汉语比较研究会，常务理事；教育部教育评估专家。主持国家社科基金项目、教育部和省级社科基金项目近10项，在《外国文学评论》《中国翻译》《外国文学研究》《当代外国文学》《外国文学》《国外文学》等刊发表论文，有著编译作多种，曾获省级科研奖。

内容简介：The American poetic endeavors have not ceased their engagement in reflecting China, given the fact that the remote state as huge ethnographic existence is often considered heterogeneous counterpart to America, deliberately or not. In our understanding, modern American poetry has undergone four phases in its representation of China. Certainly the phases are not strictly chronological, although they are heuristic, and they do bespeak of our persistent commitment to theorize the lived and actual history of cross-cultural encounters. In its various phases of encounter with American poets, this “China” is probably not the indigenous and true China, but an imagined version wrought out with fantasy and imagination.
