To promote the academic research and academic exchange between Chinese and overseas scholars in the fields of Linguistics, Language Education, particularly in the field of foreign language instruction, the School of Foreign Languages at the Southwest Jiaotong University and the Chinese Language Program at the Columbia University in the city of New York will jointly organize the International Conference on Language and Language Education on the 23rd to 24th of August, 2015 in Chengdu, China. Great supports and responses have been received since the call for paper was released. The second announcement will provide more details of the conference and scholars in the relevant research fields are cordially invited to come.

3. The Current State and lookout of the Chinese International Education: the three so-called bottlenecks of Chinese International Education, The Country-specific Chinese International Education, etc..

V Conference Agenda
The conference includes both keynote speeches and seminars. Keynote speeches are 30 minutes. Seminars are divided into different subjects including Chinese international education, linguistics and literature studies, where the speeches are usually 15 minutes (Q&A included). Please refer to on-site conference schedule for detailed speech and seminar arrangement.

VI Conference Fee and Payment

Participants can pay in cash or credit card at the registration. The conference fee will be RMB 800 (USD 120 or Euro 100) for each, and RMB 400 for postgraduates.
