To document and share the highlights of the Games, more than 200 international journalists registered to cover the event. As a key component of the Games’ media services, and under the coordination of the Publicity Department of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee, the SFL selected over 30 postgraduate and undergraduate students majoring in translation and related fields, all equipped with strong language skills and exceptional coordination abilities. Led by Assistant Professor Chen Lin from the Department of Translation, the team provided full-process linguistic and logistical support for international media, including escort interpretation, transportation guidance, and interview coordination.
During the Games, faculty and students demonstrated strong political awareness, excellent language competence, professional translation skills, and outstanding teamwork. They successfully assisted foreign journalists with registration, scheduling, and interviews, enabling the international media to experience not only world-class athletic performance but also the profound richness of Chinese culture, the unique charm of Sichuan, and the dynamic vitality of Chengdu’s development. Their exemplary performance received high praise from the Publicity Department and coverage from CGTN and other media outlets, showcasing SWJTU’s high standards in talent cultivation and social service.

The SFL has relied on high-quality platforms, including the Translation and International Communication Practice Base for Rail Transit, the SWJTU–Lan-Bridge Translation Center, the International Communication Center, and the Regional and Area Studies Center. Anchored in the development of national first-class academic programs, the SFL has deeply integrated practical training into its curriculum, continuously strengthening students’ professional competencies and global readiness while expanding its contributions to society. Looking ahead, the University will continue to advance this mission, helping shape a “credible, lovely, and respectable” national image, telling China’s stories well, making the voice of China heard, and contributing to deeper civilizational exchanges and mutually beneficial international cooperation.
