Recently, Sichuan Provincial Government announced the list of Sichuan Provincial Teaching Achievement Award in 2021. Our university has won Sichuan Provincial Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award many times. This time, chaired by Professor Li Chengjian, dean of the Institute of Foreign Languages, and with the participation of Yang Anwen, Xu Xiaoyan, Jia Fan, Lu Changhong, Dai Ruoyu, Li Haizhen, Liu Bo, Zhang Lubei and Fan Yaqi and other teachers, “Exploring New Ways of Ideological and Political Thinking in Foreign Languages and Building a New Model of three-prong Education” won the second prize of Sichuan Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award.

This achievement upholds the foreign language education concept with national consciousness and international vision as the main body, bases on the connotation, attributes and characteristics of foreign language disciplines, and focuses on national languages, literatures and cultural expertise. It highlights the historical exchanges and cultural comparisons between China and foreign countries from the characteristics and comparative perspectives of cross-cultural disciplines, and implements the fundamental task of  “fostering virtues and cultivating people” in talent training practice. The achieve-ment is driven by the ideological and political education of foreign language courses, relying on the first-class education carriers (curriculum, specialty and practice platform), highlighting the two characteristic education cultures of “high-speed railway culture” and “Sichuan culture”. The three-dimensional education mode of “online-offline, on-campus and off-campus, and domestically and abroad” takes the cultivation of international communication talents as the education goal, and explores the new paradigm of ideological and political education of foreign language courses, which meets the needs of talent training in the new era.
