Department of Japanese Participated in the Virtual Teaching and Research Office of Japanese Major of the Ministry of Education -sfl.swjtu.edu.cn

On July 28, 2022, the launching ceremony of the Virtual Teaching and Research Office of Japanese Major of Ministry of Education and the first workshop on the Construction of Japanese Major was held online. The conference was presided over by Mr. Zhang Zhigang, Vice President of the School of Japanese Language and Culture and the School of Asian and African Languages and Literature. More than 610 experts, scholars and key teachers from more than 200 institutions, including our department, attended the conference.

At the opening ceremony, Xiu Gang made a keynote speech titled “Curriculum Construction and Talent Training of Japanese Major”. In the “First Japanese Major Construction Seminar”, Zhou Yifu, Dean of School of Japanese Language of Beijing Foreign Studies University; Chen Duoyou, Dean of School of Japanese Language and Culture of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies; Wu Yuxin, dean of School of Japanese Culture and Economics of Xi 'an International Studies University; Wu Guanghui, Dean of School of Foreign Languages of Xiamen University; Gao Jie, Dean of School of Japanese Culture and Economics of Shanghai International Studies University; Wang Qi, Dean of East Language College of Harbin Normal University, and Li Haizhen, dean of Department of Southwest Jiaotong University, gave expert reports. With the title of “Reform and Exploration of Talent Cultivation Mode of Japanese Major in Science and Engineering Colleges -- Taking the Japanese Major of Southwest Jiaotong University as an example”, Li Haizhen introduced the reform and exploration of Japanese major in our university in the aspects of model innovation, connotative development and characteristic construction.

In addition, Jinshan, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages of Hainan University, and Chen Duoyou, dean of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, respectively gave a wonderful “Expert Course Sharing of Ideological and Political Model Course”.

The Virtual Teaching and Research Office of Japanese Major of Ministry of Education is led by Professor Chen Duoyou from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and jointly initiated by 6 universities including Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Xi 'an International Studies University, Tianjin Foreign Studies University, Xiamen University and Southwest Jiaotong University with 182 co-construction units. It is the only virtual teaching and research office of Japanese major in China.
