The "I Have a Pen" online English writing competition organized by the College of Foreign Languages and the Foreign Language Association, which has responded to the call of the Bureau of Education to the suspension of classes without suspending learning. It provides an opportunity for the participants and the audience to learn and compete through the online competition. Among them, the final defense is the presentation of the second round writing-from-a-picture on the theme of the Anti-epidemic, which conforms to the current reality and integrates the idea of ideological and political progress into the competition. The contestants shared their experiences during the epidemic and expressed our determination and belief to overcome the epidemic.

What the contestants mentioned frequently was the determination of the Chinese people united as one to overcome the epidemic with the belief that we must win; the heroes who stood up at the critical moment: Academician Zhong Nanshan, Academician Li Lanjuan, etc., as well as the medical team of Hubei Province, who gave up their small family for the country. At the same time, they looked at the world and expressed their views on the different coping methods of China and foreign countries in the face of novel coronavirus.

As the old saying goes, if it's advantageous for the country, I'll risk my life; therefore, I can't avoid it for it's of misfortune or accept it when it's blessing. We can see contestants’ responsibility and rational thinking in their writings and presentations. We are also looking forward to returning to university and waiting for the next meeting when the spring is warm and the epidemic is over!
