At the beginning of the lecture, Professor Liang Xia according to Claire Kramsch's theory of the third space culture puts forward that teachers of international Chinese should consciously define a "third space" between the mother tongue culture and the target language culture, listen to the expression of learners with patience and inclusiveness, pay attention to the communication and interaction with students, to achieve the purpose of understanding and coexistence, to create a suitable target language learning atmosphere for learners. After that, Professor Liang explained to the students how to use the third space perspective in the teaching of international Chinese, and proposed that cross-cultural communication can not avoid sensitive and controversial topics. Only when teachers stand in the middle zone and make statements without personal subjective assumptions, can they deal with them properly. At last, Professor Liang Xia has an in-depth interactive discussion with us and answered the questions about cross-cultural communication.
