On March 7th, 2018, School ofForeign Languages of SWJTUheld a signing ceremony withthe Mingxin Testing Center of Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban). The two sides signed a Cooperation Agreement on the construction of overseas practice bases. Li Chengjian, dean of the school, Wang Pengfei, vice-president of the school, and Wang Junqi, deputy secretary of the party committee and head of the International Chinese Department, attended this signing ceremony.
At first, Dean Li welcomed Fan Mingfeng with his party from the Testing Center, and briefly introduced the basic information of the school. Mr. Wang Pengfei introduced the foreign exchanges of students, including their overseas internship, employment, further study, and so on. Mr. Wang Junqi reviewed and summarized the funding and development of the major of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL). He also mentioned students’ overseas internship and practice, and expressed his expectation of further cooperation with Mingxin Testing Center. On behalf of the Testing Center, Mr. Fan Mingfeng showed his gratitude for Dean Li’s welcome first. Then, he introduced the operation situation and achievements of the overseas practice bases of Mingxin Testing Center.
Later, Dean Li and Mr. Wang Pengfei held consultations with Fan Mingfeng, who was in charge of the Mingxin Testing Center, on relevant details of cooperation. The two sides reached consensus and signed a cooperation agreement. According to the agreement, Mingxin Testing Center would assist the school to set up internship platform in the United States, Thailand, South Korea, Dubai, Pakistan, Malaysia and other countries.
This signing of the agreement is of great significance. It will further broaden the school's foreign exchange channels, implement the school's international strategy, enhance the competitiveness of students' employment, as well as contribute to the promotion of the connotation building of school's professions.
