The Southwest Jiaotong University will shortly be launching the faculty volleyball matches in May, 2014. The theme of the matches will be “My Games, My Happiness; My Sports, My Healthiness” and will highlight the idea of “Exercising for one hour a day, and working healthily for 50 years and leading a happy life”. These matches aim to implement the “National Fitness Plan” and to stimulate the staffs’ interest in exercising and building up their bodies.
The School of foreign languages will participate in these games to enrich our staffs’ amateur cultural life and to showcase our strength. We did achieve satisfactory results in the last tournament; our men’s and women’s team ranked the eighth and sixth respectively, amongst thirty teams. Additionally, two of our players were selected for the SWJTU’s Star Team. Our team members will ensure that they start their preparation early, taking an active part in training and working carefully on their tactics, so that they can achieve better results in the upcoming sports competition season.
The Labor Union of the School of Foreign Languages calls on all teachers to lend their support and to actively participate in these games. Additionally, all are welcome to join the sport and cheer for our team. Let us share the fun and happiness that sport brings and wish our volleyball team success.
