On September 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., the Department of French and Russian held its New Student Orientation and Class Committee Elections for the Class of 2024 in Room X30820. The event was attended by Yi Hong, Vice Dean of the School of Foreign Languages; Zuo Tianmeng, Head of the Department of French and Russian and class mentor; and Counselor Zhao Mincong. Class assistant Lv Yiran presided over the event.

The session began with a welcome speech by Lv Yiran, who introduced the purpose and agenda of the meeting. She also encouraged the new students to communicate openly and learn from their class mentor, Zuo Tianmeng. Vice Dean Yi Hong followed with a motivational address, providing valuable guidance on academic development and boosting confidence in learning French.

The second session was self-introduction. Everyone was not shy, confident, and unrestrained, boldly speaking out their hobbies and specialties, positive, lively, and cheerful, showing a happy and harmonious atmosphere.

The third session was the election of the class committee. After the wonderful campaign speeches and intense voting, the class committee members were determined, in order, as monitor Pan Baoyi, secretary of the Youth League branch Gu Lihang, study monitor Zhang Yilan, recreation and sports secretary Shen Zixuan, Mental Health Coordinator Sun Yuting, commissary for the protection of rights and interests You Jikang, commissioner in charge of organization Zhang Xiaohan, commissary in charge of publicity Ma Ting.

       In her closing remarks, Lv Yiran summarized the event, expressing hope that the students would grow together and achieve excellence in their studies. She encouraged everyone to strive for brilliance in foreign language learning and future endeavors.
