Recently, the provincial contest of 2023 “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” “Understanding Contemporary China” National Foreign Language Contest for College Students came to an end, and Li Qing, an undergraduate student of the Department of German of the class of 2020, and Huang Shihan, a postgraduate student of the class of 2023, won the gold and silver awards respectively, and Li Qing entered the national competition with excellent results. With the theme of “Understanding China, Communicating with the World” and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the guiding ideology, this competition aims to deeply implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, ensure that education its performs its fundamental mission of fostering virtue, and promote the deep development of the “Three Advancing Work”. Li Qing has been recommended to pursue further studies in German translation at Tongji University. Her excellent performance in this competition not only reflects the professional orientation of the Department of German, which has always regarded talent cultivation as its central task, but also adds another achievement to the construction of the national first-class major.
