The first meeting of the 2017 students was held at 7 p.m. on September 17, 2017 in X2420 of Xipu Campus. The meeting was conducted by Sun Zexian, the counselor for 2017 students and all 2017 students were present. Miss Sun summarized the performance of freshmen during their military training, introduced relevant rules and regulations, and make some suggestions on students' college life and future plan at the meeting.

In the beginning, Miss Sun talked about military training. She praised the students for their hard training for 14 days, and also expressed her respect and gratitude to drillmasters and the head of military training. She also praised the students who performed excellent in military training and encouraged them to continue to adhere to the collective spirit, discipline awareness and excellent style of work in their future study and life.

Then, Miss Sun briefly introduced the Regulations on Management Rules of SWJTU and the Convention on Dormitory of SFL of SWJTU. She also remind the students by analyzing the violation cases of senior students and reminded them to deeply understand and consciously abide by the school rules and regulations. In addition, Miss Sun also stressed the importance of " awards and honors" and encouraged students to perform well in their studies and participate in the selection actively .

Miss Sun also made suggestions on college life and future plan based on her own experience. She said that the skills and experience accumulated during the college years had become a unique advantage in job hunting. Therefore, it is recommended to develop one's own "special skills", to cultivate interests and hobbies, and to train one's working ability by, for instance, serving as the cadre in the class. Later, she introduced three choices after graduation: working, pursuing graduate education or studying abroad. Everyone is expected to plan their own future in advance.

Miss Sun stressed that safety should be taken as the priority. Contact information and specific location of many functional departments of SWJTU, including that of her office were exhibited.Personal and property safety shall always be kept in mind. School security office and instructors shall be contacted when any safety problems arise.

With "Study hard and make progress every day" displayed on the screen, the first meeting for 2017 students in SFL has been successfully concluded.
