Up to July 10, the summer social practice activities of the Student Union of the School of Foreign Languages have been carried out for two days. Team members went to the Luding Chain Bridge memorial hall for Chinese Red Army to review the history and understand the spirit of the Long March greatly.
During the interview, the staff briefly introduced the basic situation of the memorial hall and explained the memorial significance of the monument for 22 Warriors who dashed through the Luding Chain Bridge. She said that the Luding Chain Bridge had brought the popularity to Luding County. Through this event, the whole nation realized the obstacles experienced by Chinese Red Army during the Long March. In addition, relevant departments had expressed the strong support for the construction of the memorial hall and attached great importance to the publicity and protection of Luding Chain Bridge. After the interview, team members visited the memorial hall. The exhibition here reflected the details of history and showed the glorious and struggling period. In the afternoon, team members also interviewed on how to understand the spirit of the Long March on local streets. Fortunately, they interviewed some war veterans. When recalling the bloody and brutal battle, these senior men were still filled with emotion. Besides, many students thought they needed to strengthen their ideals and carry forward the spirit of the Long March in the new era.
The visit deepens the team members' understanding of revolutionary history and arouses their patriotic feelings. They experience the growth of the Communist Party of China in social practice, which helps to broaden their horizons, understand the national conditions and contribute to the construction of nation as a SWJTU student.
