On July 8, the summer social practice activities of the Student Union of the School of Foreign Languages visited the Luding County, Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Garzê. ( in South Sichuan Province, Southwest China)
At 8:30 am, the practice team got on the bus and travelled for 7 hours to the Luding County. The leader Sun Qian presented team members the schedule and arranged the tasks. Then, the team conducted the preliminary investigation on Luding County to understand local customs.
On the morning of July 9, team members visited the historic landmark and realized the Luding Chain Bridge's danger and unique, as well as the most uncommon history. In a word, they knew the difficult historical conditions for martyrs opening up a new era of history.
In the afternoon, team members visited the Sichuan-Tibet Highway Memorial Hall and the Luding Chain Bridge memorial hall for Chinese Red Army. During the visit, students recognized it was of some significance on Chinese revolution for the Red Army occupying the Luding Chain Bridge.
The team members found the hardship of martyrs’ carving new paths through following the Long March and visiting the revolution memorial hall. Meanwhile, they would combine the spirt of the Long March and the SWJTU’s spirt on cultivating talents and revitalizing the nation in the future. The practice team would learn more in the further visits.
