Shang Tuo is an associate professor at the School of Foreign Languages, Southwest Jiaotong University. She got her Master’s Degree in the Grammar of Modern Chinese at Sichuan University in 1989. With her rich experience and years of research in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, she has published more than 10 articles. She got her Certificate for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (Advanced) in 1993. From 2003 to 2005, she was sent to the University of Foreign Languages Mandalay in Myanmar to teach Chinese. From 2008 to 2010, she was sent to Stellenbosch University in South Africa to teach Chinese. She got her Worldwide Advantage Certificate for Language Teaching at the University of Central Lancashire in the United Kingdom in 2012.
